Interested in Becoming a Producer?
Call Access Fort Wayne at (260) 421-1250 to register for monthly producer orientation sessions held on the first Tuesday at 6:30 p.m. in the Main Library. Individual scheduling available Wednesdays or Thursdays mornings.
- Review our Rules and Policies and complete the producer application.
- Book studio or editing space by calling (260) 421-1250. Producers may reserve studio space up to three times monthly.
- Organize a crew to utilize studio facilities. Contact Access TV for a list of trained volunteers.
- Sign the program playback agreement after production to enable broadcast on designated channels.
How to Become a Volunteer
Visit the ACPL Volunteering page and submit an application via Volunteer Portal.
Danielle Gleason, ACPL Volunteer Services Manager, will arrange interviews and coordinate volunteer assignments. Attend the upcoming AFW Studio Workshop for details.

Entry Level Workshops
Beginners can join Studio Camera and Camcorder Workshops to learn essential television production skills.
The Studio Camera Workshop focuses on foundational techniques for on-camera performance. The Camcorder Workshop expands skills into field production including audio and technical support. Equipment checkouts require an ACPL library card.
Advanced Workshops
After accumulating twenty volunteer hours, participants may attend Audio Operator and Assistant Director Workshops. Audio Operator covers master control audio operations while Assistant Director prepares volunteers for full production oversight.
Community Calendar
The Community Calendar features programming across Access channels 55 and 57 daily. Messages appear continuously with background soft jazz for Comcast and FiOS subscribers in Allen County. External viewers receive public access channels only.
Submission Guidelines
- Use the Message Request Form requiring an authorized signature.
- Content is strictly non-commercial. Only free events or ticket information may be listed.
- Submit requests early for timely inclusion—minimum one week notice recommended.
- Sample format: "Event Name at Address - Details and contact information."
Studio Times
Studio A and Studio B book on a first-come, first-served basis at no cost for county residents. Advance reservations permitted up to sixty days prior. Operating hours:
Mon-Tue, Wed-Thu: 10am-1pm, 2pm-5pm, 5pm-8pm
Fri-Sat: 10am-1pm, 2pm-5pm
Producers receive three studio slots monthly. Messages must focus on core event details due to screen size limitations.
Calendar Message Tips
Include what happens, where it occurs, event dates, beneficiaries, audience description, and contact information.
Image Policy
Submit photos via email or mail—JPEG/GIF/BMP formats preferred. Maximum 8x11 inches or minimum 4x4 inches at 72 DPI.
Broadcast Duration
Standard calendar messages air for thirty days. Extensions require contacting Operations Assistant.
