Library Field Trips

  • Ideal for all grades 

  • Schedule a class visit

    • Experience a personalized guided tour of our expansive Main Library in downtown Fort Wayne 

    • Join a storytime in Main Library's StoryScape (ages 7 and under) 

    • Explore the Rolland Center for Lincoln Research at Main Library

    • Discover the Genealogy Center at Main Library

    • Visit the Studio at the Library (Formerly Maker Lab)

    • Find branch libraries throughout Allen County

  • Submit a request to visit the Main Library

  • Arrange a Classroom Visit

    • Perfect for all grade levels 

    • Connect with a librarian for in-person or virtual sessions. Suggested topics include:  

      • Library resources for homework and research projects  

      • Relevant fiction and nonfiction titles for classroom topics  

      • Library card guidance and benefits  

    • Engaging books to inspire young readers 

    • Request a school or classroom visit

    Classroom Support

    • Access educational resources from the Rolland Center for Lincoln Research, including programs, videos, guides, worksheets, and lesson plans  

    • Custom Collections:

      • Need more books or materials on a specific theme? Our staff will curate a Custom Collection for you. Allow one week for preparation. Forms available at library locations.

    • Join Lit Loot

      • Teens (grades 7-12) can participate in our monthly Lit Loot program. Complete a questionnaire for personalized book recommendations.

    • Enjoy free eBooks and eMedia with an ACPL library card, plus access to databases for research and learning.

    • Free access to digital resources supports student interests and projects.

    Educator Library Cards

    • Allen County educators receive library cards with standard borrowing privileges. Out-of-county teachers may obtain cards if they teach in K-12 schools here.

    To contribute to our local author collection, please complete our submission form. We'll provide instructions on donation procedures. Note: Donated items follow specific selection criteria and become part of our permanent collection.

    Volunteer to share your story on our "Pages & Voices" podcast or present at future programs!

    Podcast participation requires agreement to terms and availability for recording. Details available upon request.

    We also welcome local authors to lead workshops on writing, publishing, or subject expertise through ACPL programs.
