WHEN WILL CONSTRUCTION BEGIN? 

Numerous preparatory actions are necessary prior to initiating construction. Our Capital Projects Committee will collaborate closely with Library administration to define procedures and schedules. Regular updates will be provided as developments occur on www.youracpl.org.

WHERE WILL THE NEW SHAWNEE AND ABOITE BRANCHES BE LOCATED? 

Currently, both Shawnee and Aboite sites are scheduled for sale, with future branches planned for adjacent, accessible locations. We aim to maintain neighborhood service proximity while ensuring convenient access for patrons. Future announcements about site selections will be shared via www.youracpl.org.

WHEN AND HOW LONG WILL YOU BE CLOSED?  

Uncertainty surrounds exact closure dates and durations due to evolving timelines. Our priority remains uninterrupted service; therefore, we strive to sustain operations during construction wherever possible. Updates on plans will be distributed through www.youracpl.org, social platforms, and direct communications.

SELECTION CRITERIA FOR PHASE 1 LOCATIONS

The Library Board’s Capital Projects Committee evaluated Phase 1 candidates based on facility limitations such as aging infrastructure, spatial constraints, and significant structural deficiencies.

TAX IMPLICATIONS EXPLAINED

Funding for Phase 1 comes from accumulated library reserves plus municipal tax-backed bonds. This typically translates to a $0.0165 per $100 assessed value increment for Allen County property owners, though actual changes depend on individual circumstances. Owners nearing tax cap thresholds will not incur increases. A detailed projection chart is available.

STAFF STABILITY ASSURANCE

Restructuring will not diminish personnel resources. While some roles might shift to newly established or expanded locations, changes will occur gradually and involve staff input.

MAKERSPACE UPDATE
